NOTES:

Date: July 01, 2005
NFSP v2.8 changes:

Stretching Problem Fixed: This version takes care of MARQUEE inconsistencies that were causing problems with some browsers. The main problem was stretching of templates in FireFox/Mozilla family browsers.

Ordering Added: v2.8 includes new ideas offered by you. I really couldn't believe I missed this feature, ordering. Robert van Doorn, graciously, introduced me to this new concept and even offered a modified NFS module demonstrating the new feature. Thank you!

Oldest.../New... changed: Marco (elpoleto) from our help forum pointed out how the scroller's Oldest and Newest method could be improved. To show that I'm listening to you I've changed the Oldest/Newest method of sorting to be on the created date of an item, instead of the id. This change will fix any problems you may have been experiencing when modifying your news and sorting on Oldest/Newest. I also am looking into adding a loop time option. This would allow you to set the number of times the scroller loops before stopping.

Credits: The original idea for NFSP was based on DJesus' concept. It was cool, that's why I installed it, used it. This was way back...the only thing needed was more. So I started tweaking it, and this tweaked version became NFS. DJesus deserves credit/respect for the concept. Thanks, Olivier Gougain!

Enhancements of Linked Titles and Copy Module Compatibility suggested and made possible by Phil Pierotti. I would also like to thank all the people that take the time to report bugs, request features and offer help or ideas, because this is what a community is all about.

I have received a couple of great modifications for the scroller and can't wait to make it happen. I'm currently working on the Today in History component and will come back to this module ASAP.

Updated this module and I think the problem with the 'You are not authorized to view this resource.' error has been fixed?

Date: December 12, 2004
Had this article published on how to add your own module suffix to this news scroller, but I came to realize that there was an error in the class I had mentioned. That's fixed and the article correctly shows you how to add the suffix to this module (it actually works now).

Did some more work on this module the last couple of days. Added some new linking features, including a details link option.

Fixed some typos and added SEF capability to links that this modules displays.

A much requested feature was also added. The ability to add your own CSS class to this module.

Update:
Date: September 01, 2004
The current version (2.1) is now compatible with the Copy Module function in Admin. It also allows titles to be linked to the associated content. Find the download link above.

Had a request that I thought was covered in the new version of Mambo, but I guess this modules is not up to snuff, yet. I added a second module for download that will allow two NewsFlash Scroller Modules to run at the same time. NOTE: you will need to install both. Taken care of in the above post.

Date: August 19, 2004
A small bug was found and is now fixed. If you downloaded this module before 9:00 a.m. PST August 19, 2004 you should update your copy by downloading and re-installing this new copy. There's no difference in the version numbers, so you won't be able to tell which copy you have (with the exception of the time and date above).

DONE! I've got a converted module ready for testing or whatever you want. This module only runs on Mambo 4.5.1 versions.

Date: August 15, 2004
The newsflash scroller pro module (current version 2.1) is being converted to run under the 4.5.1 version of Mambo. Should have a release within a day or two.
